Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you based/what area do you cover?
I am based in the North West of England, north of Preston. I cover the North West, The Lake District, Yorkshire, Cheshire and everywhere in between. I am also happy to travel further for weddings, so please enquire!
How far in advance Should I enquire/book?
I take enquiries up to around 18 months in advance, any further and I usually request that you pop a note in your diary to get back in touch - I don't like to juggle too many brides at once, so this way gives you a more personal service.
Do you take a deposit?
I do! Once we know that I am available on your date, I take a deposit which secures your date into the diary. We then arrange a date for your trial following that.
When do I pay for the wedding?
Your final wedding balance should be paid no later than 14 days before your wedding date - I will send invoice reminders for you to pay via bank transfer.
When should I do the trial?
I always recommended doing your trial 8-10 weeks before your wedding date, but this is flexible to you! Some brides like to have their trial much earlier so they know they are happy and its a job ticked off. Others like to wait until a couple of weeks before, once every detail of the wedding has been finalised. I am happy to be flexible, and we can chat about that! I do ask that trials are done at my home address in Inglewhite, PR3. Due to my bridal commitments at weekends, I can only offer you a trial on weekdays, including some selected weekday evenings.
What happens at the trial?
You can bring along Mums/Bridesmaids if you would prefer (I make a great coffee/tea!) and you should expect to be with me for around 2 and a half hours for hair and makeup and around an hour and a half for just one or the other. In advance or your trial I usually ask you to send me over some ideas and some pictures of you so I can start to get an idea of what you like. I can advise on what I think will work best for you, and you won't leave me until you are fully happy with your look!
What happens on the wedding day?
After your trial, I work on a schedule for you which I send by email, so you know what time I am arriving. I will set up and work to the schedule, so do ask that people are on time for their time slot. I have years of experience in getting people ready on time, its so important! I stay until the very last minute, and help you fit your veil/tiara, do final makeup checks and touch ups, cover any blemishes on skin etc.
After your wedding...
Pleeeeeeeeease share your gorgeous photos with me and let me know how your day went!
